About the event

Nortkerque is hosting the Apple and Nature Festival, a back-to-school event in the Audruicq Oye-Plage region. This 17th edition will take place on Saturday, September 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the Natur’Pom orchards.

The organizers, who are passionate about apples, will share tips on how to adapt your orchard to drought and extreme heat. You can also bring your own apple varieties to have them identified by experts.

The day will focus on three themes: gardens, orchards, and animals. Dimitri will showcase his 150 animals of local breeds, including the Sabelpoot chicken. There will be orchard tours, demonstrations of grinding and pressing, and opportunities to chat with fellow gardening enthusiasts.

Fressin Opalenews event

The Plant Festival will be held on September 5, 2026, in Fressin, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a €5 admission fee. Every year, it brings together gardening enthusiasts and hobbyists to explore a selection of high-quality plants. It’s the perfect opportunity to create or redesign your outdoor space, thanks to personalized advice from the nursery owners in attendance. Among the regular exhibitors are Nicolas Jean-Loup Hennebelle, Hugo Guillain, Mela Rosa, Hortensiartois, Jardins d’Exception, Le Jardin du Lièvre, Jérôme au Fil de l’eau, La Fée Aromatik, Ortiz – Villa Céramiste (creator of ceramic flowers and plant stakes), and Décoration de jardins. This year, two new nursery owners are joining the festivities: La Pépinière des Érables and Arbor&Tom Nursery, making their debut. Two talks hosted by Anthony Maquestiau, a radio and TV columnist and contributor to the show “Jardins & Loisirs,” will offer you an introduction to heirloom tomatoes and permaculture at 11 a.m., followed by a discussion on pruning and caring for perennials at 3 p.m.
