Dunkirk as seen from the Belfry

Discovery October 7, 2026

About the event

As part of its policy to promote nature in the city, the City of Dunkirk and the CPIE Flandre Maritime invite you to climb to the top of the Saint-Éloi Belfry to observe life in Dunkirk alongside nature guides.

Two groups will be organized for this event; each group will alternate between viewing the scenery from the top and learning about the area at ground level. Thanks to the view from the belfry, you’ll be able to discover biodiversity from a bird’s-eye view and follow the path of the water through Dunkerque, as well as all the structures that allow it to flow.

This event is open to everyone, but please note that it is best not to suffer from a fear of heights and to be in good physical condition to climb the Belfry.

This activity is offered by the City of Dunkirk as part of its policy to promote nature in the city and is led by the CPIE Flandre Maritime.
