On October 31, 2026, the Le Touquet Symphony Orchestra will write a new chapter in the resort’s cultural history by presenting *Barbe Noire*, the new opera by composer Ambroise Divaret.
On this occasion, Le Touquet will host the world premiere of its very first opera—an exceptional event that will make the Palais des Congrès the birthplace of a new French opera.
Inspired by the world of the sea, great voyages, and piracy, *Barbe Noire* naturally resonates with the identity of Le Touquet, a city oriented toward the coast, adventure, and wide horizons. Amid storms, battles, a quest for freedom, and a love story, the production draws the audience into a captivating epic that blends emotion, suspense, and wonder.
Written and sung in French, this opera captivates with its grand melodies, the richness of its orchestral scoring, and a story accessible to all.
