About the event

At 22, you should never have to think that every passing second might be your last. Yet that is exactly what this Canadian soldier has been thinking ever since he arrived on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. A deeply moving story, from his training in England to his tragic death. This play, written by and starring Kenjy Poure, with music by guitarist Gérard Butcher, pays tribute to the Canadian soldiers who came to liberate the Boulonnais region in late September 1944. Performance held to mark the anniversary of the Liberation of Outreau. Following the show, a discussion session with the Histo Jeep Tour association offers insight into the challenges and the difficult Allied recapture of the Boulonnais region. Cultural Services Box Office: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on Fridays), Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and at the venue one hour before each performance.

Tour: "The British Cemetery at Etaples-sur-Mer"

Between 1915 and 1919, the British General Staff established its facilities behind the front lines, along the French coast. A massive military and hospital camp was established in Étaples-sur-Mer; today, its only visible remnant is the military cemetery, the largest of the Commonwealth forces in France. This camp required the deployment of extensive infrastructure to meet the needs of thousands of soldiers in transit, the wounded, and the camp personnel. The guide will introduce you to the history of the site, its architecture, and the layout of the 10,729 graves of soldiers from the British Empire, which overlook the Canche River…

This first installment is dedicated to the rich history of the town center, featuring a 45- to 60-minute walking tour suitable for families.
