About the event

Researchers at the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale are offering a unique science outreach experience that combines an engaging lecture, hands-on experiments, and active audience participation. This “Animaconf” alternates between accessible explanations, live scientific demonstrations, and interactive quizzes, inviting participants to observe, experiment, and question the phenomena around us in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere. Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes; for ages 8 and up. Free admission. The Cité de la dentelle et de la mode is open every day except Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Exceptional Craftsmanship: Weaving with Anne Corbière

An afternoon dedicated to exceptional weaving. Anne Corbière, a textile artisan, will share her passion with the public through demonstrations and a talk about her career and craft. She initially focused on producing theater costumes before designing and creating exclusive fabrics for haute couture, and later for leading interior designers and collectors. Her work combines contemporary design with traditional craft techniques. She also teaches at the University of Angers and the Institut Français de la Mode, and serves as a consultant for the textile industry in France and internationally. Demonstrations from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lecture at 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium; duration: 45 minutes. Free admission; reservations recommended. The Cité de la dentelle et de la mode is open every day except Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
