About the event

Maurizio Galante, Tal Lancman, and Lydia Kamitsis, the curatorial director of the exhibition “Haute Couture, Design, Art,” are hosting a discussion open to the public. They will speak freely about their careers, their creative practices, and their approaches to thinking about and exhibiting creativity at the intersection of disciplines, and will reflect on their collaboration and the projects that have shaped their work. "From One Museum to Another" Tour

A guided tour connecting the two museums, centered on the exhibition “Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman: Haute Couture, Design, Art.” The exhibition explores the dialogue between fashion and design through some sixty haute couture outfits created by Maurizio Galante since the 1990s, as well as works of art and design conceived with his partner Tal Lancman since 2003. The art of couture, weaving, and embroidery encompasses all materials: feathers, beads, ceramics, straw, lace, textured silks, metal, glass, and leather. Tours depart from the Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode and last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Included with admission; reservations required.

Exceptional Craftsmanship: Weaving with Anne Corbière

An afternoon dedicated to exceptional weaving. Anne Corbière, a textile artisan, will share her passion with the public through demonstrations and a talk about her career and craft. She initially focused on producing theater costumes before designing and creating exclusive fabrics for haute couture, and later for leading interior designers and collectors. Her work combines contemporary design with traditional craft techniques. She also teaches at the University of Angers and the Institut Français de la Mode, and serves as a consultant for the textile industry in France and internationally. Demonstrations from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lecture at 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium; duration: 45 minutes. Free admission; reservations recommended. The Cité de la dentelle et de la mode is open every day except Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
