About the event

With Émilie Taupe, a textile and object designer. As a parent-child duo, work with lace woven on a Leavers loom and experiment with textures, reliefs, and volumes to create your own imaginary specimen. Imagine, stitch, and assemble to bring to life a marvelous insect or animal, inspired by the architectural and organic poetry of the duo Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman. To cap off this playful experience, your creation will be delicately encased in a glass dome, ready to become part of your own cabinet of curiosities. Two time slots: 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2 p.m.–5 p.m. Price: €26 per parent-child pair (children ages 7 and up). Reservations required.

"From One Museum to Another" Tour

A guided tour connecting the two museums, centered on the exhibition “Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman: Haute Couture, Design, Art.” The exhibition explores the dialogue between fashion and design through some sixty haute couture outfits created by Maurizio Galante since the 1990s, as well as works of art and design conceived with his partner Tal Lancman since 2003. The art of couture, weaving, and embroidery encompasses all materials: feathers, beads, ceramics, straw, lace, textured silks, metal, glass, and leather. The introductory session will be held in groups of two: one child will be paired with one knitter from our monthly club. What could this lion with forked claws and this ship sailing on the waves—depicted on the coat of arms—possibly represent? What are they for? You, too, can create your own family coat of arms and take home your personalized crest.
