An old-fashioned dictation exercise using a quill pen, organized by the Municipal Archives. Supplies are available on site: just come and dip your quill in the inkwell. Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Vergriete Room; open to everyone ages 9 and up. Register by calling 03 28 51 34 33 or emailing archives@ville-gravelines.fr. Also on view at the same location: the Municipal Archives exhibition “1950–2000: 50 Years of Public Schools in Gravelines,” open all weekend. Part of the European Heritage Days.

JEP: Guided Tour of Gravelines City Hall

Accompanied by a guide, delve into the history of City Hall, admire its 19th-century neoclassical façade, and get a behind-the-scenes look at some municipal departments. On Saturday, the tour is followed by a discussion with the Municipal Police; on Sunday, by a tasting of local products. Tours run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on both days.
