About the event
For this year’s European Heritage Days, the castle with the blue windows is opening the doors to its family rooms, where a new shade of yellow sparkles. Beyond the fresh coat of paint, the association is celebrating above all a bold choice: the restoration of woodwork crafted from timber harvested from the estate’s grounds—more work and more time, but the satisfaction of making the most of the estate’s resources to better preserve it. In these rooms spared by the collapse, time had stood still; now adorned with elegant woodwork, they invite visitors to reflect on the estate’s ambition and the desire to make it a vibrant place, connected to its surroundings.
On the agenda for the two-day event, centered on the national theme “Resist, Revive, Reimagine”:
Conversation Salons, at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (1 hour each)—a unique format combining a tour and discussion to reflect together on ways to bring heritage to life today. How will this monument of feudal origin find its role in our time? What new needs can it meet? What matters most: funding, the team, expertise, passion, or patience? An exhibition of vintage vehicles from the 1920s to the 1970s, featuring the Rétro-Club des Flandres and Dunkerque en Torpédo, in partnership with the French Federation of Vintage Vehicles.
A fun tour highlighting architectural and garden details, in partnership with CAUE Nord and Les Vieilles Maisons Françaises, plus family workshops and lace-making demonstrations.
An open-air café serving light meals starting at noon.
